"It is important to remember that this is not a question of whether Jesus sinned. Both sides agree, as the Bible clearly says, that Jesus did not sin. The question is whether Jesus could have sinned." - Got-Questions.Org
When Jesus came to earth as a man, He was capable of sinning, but never did. The Bible states in Hebrews 2:18 "Since He Himself has gone through suffering and temptation, He is able to help us when we are being tempted." Jesus has gone through temptation when the devil tried to tempt Him to sin 3 times. But Jesus resisted the temptation. Jesus knows what is it like to be tempted to lie, to take revenge, to take the easy way out, but He chose to tell the truth, to turn the other cheek and He knows what it is like to suffer and to be persecuted because He loves God. If He is able to go through all this, then we can look to Him for help and we know that with Faith, we can conquer sin and temptation.
You may ask, "But God is not able to sin because that is not part of His nature and isn't Jesus God? So how can He be able to sin?" Well when Jesus came and to earth, He came in the form of a man, so that He can identify with our needs, feelings, and temptation so that may he be able to relate to us. He came and spoke the "language" that we understand. Hebrews 4: 15 says that Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. He's been through weakness and testing, experienced it all. He came in the form of a man, but was still God, so that though he was faced with temptation, HE DID NOT SIN. He lived a perfect life and that is the example we are left to follow.
It isn't easy to be perfect, but keep on looking to Jesus, strive to be like Jesus. By dying on the cross and rising back to life, He broke the chains of sin, so that once we receive Him into our lives, we are no longer a slave to sin but have passed from death to life.
Once we allow Jesus to come into our lives, the Holy Spirit will come too, and will enable us to resist temptation, because we cannot do this with our own strength. It is also by reading God's Word, talking to God and abiding in Him, so that He can direct our path.
*This topic is very dividing. Many Christians believe He was able, while many others argue that it was impossible for him to be able to sin.

Though I am a Born-Again Christian, I don't have all the answers. I pray that through carefully reading the Scriptures, and listening to God's voice, I pray that He will reveal to us the answer to this question so that we may be in one accord.
