Contrary to popular belief, there is only ONE way to Heaven. There are a lot of people who believe that every body is going to go to Heaven, or some paradise island or "a better place". But no, not every body will go there.

Other popular beliefs also include the following:

  • Everyone becomes an angel and goes to heaven when they die.
  • Whoever obeys the Ten Commandments will go to heaven.
  • Whoever goes to church will go to heaven.
  • Whoever does more good things than bad things will go to heaven.
  • Whoever believes in God will go to heaven.
  • Whoever has not killed anyone or done anything really bad will go to heaven.
  • Everyone in a Christian household will go to heaven.
  • Everybody will go to heaven.

They seem OK, but THEY ARE ALL WRONG.

The ONE AND ONLY way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. God has given us a free gift that none of us deserve. But yet God loves us even though we are sinners. This free gift is Jesus, His Son. Yet, though this gift is free, not many will accept it.

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" - Romans 5:8

All that God asks of us is to believe. Believe that Jesus is Lord, Son of God and that He died to save us from our sins and that he had also rose from the dead.

But it is not just believing with your head, like you believe that the sky is blue. The Devil believes and knows that God exist, That Jesus is Lord and that He died and rose again. He believes but yet he's still going to hell. You must believe with your heart. Let Jesus come into your life and into your heart. Accept Him as your Personal Lord and Saviour. Let Him take complete control of your life. God will never leave your nor forsake you. He will never lead you down the bad road but He will lead you to heaven. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

If you have sincerely done this, it is only then that the The Holy Spirit will come into your life and change your heart. You will be cleansed from your sins and be forgiven.

You will not want to sin anymore but you would want to please God and do what is right. But if you do sin, and you ask God for forgiveness and you're sincerely sorry (repentance), God will forgive you. But it does not mean that you can sin and have this attitude "Oh it's ok if I sin because God is going to forgive me anyways". Christ died on the cross, paid the debt he did not owe, paid the price so that we can have eternal life. With this attitude, it's as if Jesus' sacrifice was in vain! Who did He die for? US. Why did he die for us? So that our sins may be forgiven and washed away. What motivated Him? HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE FOR US.

When we become Born-Again Christians, "we are called to be free. We should not use our freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, to serve one another in love." - Galatians 5:13. When you ask for forgiveness, it means that you are truly sorry and you would try with all your heart not to sin again.

    Galatians 5, also reads,

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.

When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarrelling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

Your heart will be changed, not by you, but by the Holy Spirit.
